CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Thousands of people lined up for jobs this weekend that used to be reserved for college students.
More than 5,000 people stood in line to apply for summer jobs at Carowinds theme park.
Many people arrived hours before the job fair opened, just to be first in line.
"It's ridiculous -- it's been hard," said applicant Aron Bogdanoff. "Yeah, it's a little tough. My wife's bringing home the money now."
A representative said the demand for jobs is more than double from this time last year.
Carowinds said jobs for food and beverage service and games went fast on Saturday.
More openings are expected to become available throughout the season.Statistics: Posted by ShotCaller — Tue Feb 10, 2009 9:29 am
