OK, our club will be on Santee at Harry's Fish camp on March 28th time 6:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.. We're sure, many of the fish will be on the spawn and some may be post spawn. Which lake will be the best to fish during the time of the year? Would you be trying to find some of the back water ponds or just any parts of the lake that bass may spawn in? I've never been on Santee when they were in the spawn, we been there when they were in the prespawn and post spawn . What areas do the bass at Santee like to bed in? What depth range do you look for? Any suggestions or tips will help us. Barret will be on Spring Break from U.N.C. at Pembroke next week and he planning on going down next weekend, any suggestions for him? Try sight fishing. Most ponds will have at least some fish in them.

One more week and I'll be fishing thank GOD!!!! Anyone been out lately, can you tell me what the water temperatures are like in the back water ponds and in the coves? Looks like rain forecast for next Sat. 60% right now. What patterns would you suggested? Right now I'm thinking about spinner baits, shallow cranks, t-worms, wacky worms, swimbaits, and some top waters like 13G rapalas or bomber jerk bait. I'm thinking hard about using a buzz bait also!! I made it out to Taw Caw creek the other day. I only got to stay a couple hours in the AM. The water temp was just under 70 in the cove. Water was murky but not too bad. I'd give floating worms a good try.
