Here's a topic. What is the size of the shad on Santee in Feb.( small, med., or large)? What is the color of the crawfish on Santee in Feb.? I'm trying to desided what size crankbait to be using for Feb. 28. Thanks and god bless all.

Are you talking about the Upper or Lower lake?

I fish the lower lake 90% of the time, and my favorite bait in Feb is the # 7 shadrap
in the gold crawdad color.

Chart/ green back is a very good color, as is the firetiger.

Don't forget about a C-rig for this time of the year also. Green pumpkin brush hogs
were very good this time last year....

Hey Jel "007" here. The fish on Santee have been hitting everything and in all sizes. Most are using dep little n's. Orange or red seem to be good colors. The jig bite has been real good also. Black and blue have always been a proven color on santee. the swamp turns on today and off tomorrow so it will be hit or miss for the next couple of weeks. Don't think deep think shallow. Hope this helps. Jacks creek is turning out some HAWGS right now.

Good to hear from you "007", hope you and yours are doing well in 2006! Thanks for the info, I've benn thinking along the same lines as you have suggested, jigs and shollow. We'll be putting in at Harry's and I'll be fishing with my brother. We're thinking about going to the lower lake and fishing in the area around Angle's. we found a good looking spot over there the last time we where there, we didn't get that much time there so we're going back there and give it a good work out.
