My son Barret when down on Tuesday 4-2-14 and only had one hit in 6 hrs of fishing and it came off before he could get it to the boat. Said all looked good and the people he talked to on the water said it was dead for them as well. He said he talk to one guy that fished this pass Sat. and said he weighted in 20lbs, but don't think he placed in the money with that. Barret said it winning weigh was 30 plus.
Guy said he didn't find any on beds and all he got was on p-spawn pattern. Barret said the strangest thing he ever seen for the time of year was big shad in the back of Crappie Creek that looked as if they were spawning.
Said they were all around the tree and grass, but no bass any where to be found. I ask him if he was sure the were shad and he said they were the big shad(Gizzard????)
Do any one have any ideal when they spawn? I've got a small club tourney there on April the 19th out of Wyboo Creek and I'm not going to be able to go and do any pre-fishing, because of work around my home, my mother, and mother in-law home. I'll be lucky just to go on tourney day. Some time we just don't realize how much you miss someone when they're gone and I truly miss my Father and father in-law. They couldn't help me much with the jobs, just them being there tell me how to do them made them go faster. Any way if anyone has any suggestion, just drop me a line, I'll bit!!!!
God bless all.
