I have heard smallmouth live in the congaree up near Columbia. I wonder if someone ran that far up or if they are working their way down to Santee?

they ran all the way up there to catch fish....I wish that I kept running up. Bite was difficult....only sixty something boaters caught a fish and only 31 non boaters caught a fish...sure would like to know how anyone caught a fish down there!
I fished everywhere up above 95 and to 601. No bites no nothing for 3 days! Also did go down to west dike for about 4 hours as well and no luck down there either. So saturday I spent most of the day flipping hyacinth mats and about 2 hours on docks...First time the mats have let me down.

tight lines

and I WILL get my revenge on Murray next month.....

We did O.K., I had 4 bites and my Co-angler had 5 bites. We put seven in the boat between us. He won the co-angler and I came in 31. We caught all of ours in the upper lake on jig head worms. Second year in a row that my co-angler finished in the top ten. One day I will figure out how to get those bigger bites on tournament day. The fish we caught were the smallest fish that I have caught off the spot in the last two febuary practice and tournaments down there. Some reason the big fish never moved up.

I was the fortunate one to come in 31st in the co-angler part........We ran down and locked through into the Copper River. I consider myself very fortunate to catch that one little fish.

Thank's Roadkill, I've learned something new today, I don't know one could go through locks to get into the Copper River  !!!! How long does it take to get through that to get into the river? :hmm: Thanks and God bless all.

Jelbass, we left John C. Land III at about 7:20 AM and was through the lock around 8:30 AM. That was the first time I'd ever locked through anywhere, it was really something to see. The water inside the lock dropped 70' in less than 10 minutes. It didn't take much longer if any to raise it back up when we came back through. There was plenty of grass, islands and other stuff to fish. I caught my fish on a split shot rigged 4" lizard just off a current break.....

Remember this!!!! If the wind comes up, I believe 15-20 and blowing towards the locks, they will not open it and you are stuck
