I had planned a night fishing trip to Lake Wateree, but my buddy back out on me, so I made plans with another friend to hit Pack's Sat. morning. Soon after we made plans, he had his grandson coming from Florida, so he had to cancel also. I got to do a little much needed fishing solo, just me the hit and God! I ended up starting my day at lowfalls, and with the water being so low, I quickly left and headed toward stumphole swamp. It was just crazy how low the water was! Fished in stumphole area, for a little while without a bite! I was ready to go to Wateree, so at least I could get a limit of fish or a limit of missed fish lol! I decided to fishin the river. Glad I did, because I got lucky enough to catch a good limit of fish! I had ordered some parasite weights and clips, and got to try them out! They are totally awesome, and I am hooked on them! Fished a texas rig with a junebug worm, caught all my fish but one! Had KaRu lures build a jig for me in a special color, and I decided to try it out, and caught the other keeper on it!! Wasn't really expecting it to produce on that end of the lake, but a GOOD JIG will produce where you wouldn't expect it to! Ended the day with 7 fish, with a good 5 pounder kicker. Best five would push 11-12 pounds. Not a great sack for Santee, but I will take it with conditions the way they are right now. Just glad to get to get back on the dead sea and catch a few fish lol!
