Will the Federation still have the 6man tournament on Marion in Oct., if the lake levels don't come back up?? If not where do you think they will hold it???

Probably going to have to live with it at Santee. I can't see them changing it at this late a date. Too many teams have made housing arrangements and plans. I agree it will be hazardous, the lake will continue droping until they get it down 7 to 8 ft to do work on the dam. Might come up some if we get a troical system between now and the 6-man, but I doubt that would help much. Make sure your team brings some back up boats.

I was on Marion on Labor day and again yesterday. Launched at J.C. Land ran to Wyboo area and went across the lake. Lots of timber showing up beside the cut; everywhere else it was tough to keep the boat on plane for long. Also, it stunk like the swine barn at the state fair  So did the fishing

Checked with ny buddy who works at Cross. No dam work. ( I wish I could say that). You guys won't have any problems. Just stay away from the visible stuff. Went this past weekend and the fishin was pretty good on the lower lake. Good luck! :D

Good research Dixiedeerslayer!

They are always working on the dikes. I don't think they are drawing down the water to do this. Sounds to me like they are going to add boulders in front to cut down on the wave erosion :?: Anyway, it continues to drop about a half inch a day. It sure is spooky runin out there

Wish I was fishing the 6-man. The fish are on FIRE! I will have to head to Clark's Hill and fish the regional instead! Hope everyone will leave me a few for me to come home to! God Bless!

Our club has had the last meeting before the Sixman & most are wanting not to fish this one because of low water issues. Has any other clubs decided on this ? Is the lake not safe? I need some input from Federation Members please.

As of today @10 AM Moultrie was 70.10 (75.4) and Marion was 70.19 (76.6) so yeah I would say it is a little low. Our club is sending two teams and we are still going to fish the tournament. You can still get around on the lake if you use some common sense. You have to run the channel markers and do a lot of idling, but that is just the situation right now. A two day tournament went out of John C Land last weekend and they didn't have any problems. But if the wind decides to blow then that will be a whole different situation. Hope this helps your club decide.
