We went down to Santee yesterday and all I can say is WOW! If you have not seen the lake while it is low, you need to go down there. I have never seen so many miles of dry lakebed and stumps. Really the shear number of stumps will amaze you. Wow that baby is low.

The only problem is that some big fish are getting trapped in some of the ponds and are going to starve to death. You can walk in to some of these places and see the fish. If someone tells you there on stumps this is what you are up against. The water has dropped over a foot since this pic was taken.

Now is the time to learn new runs, and mark a few brushpiles and other structure that will benefit you when the water comes 9 feet back up! Just a little scary moving around  , but the fish are eating!

Santeebasser, I imagine the fish are really easy to catch right now but who is brave enough to run out there???? I guess an aluminum boat would be the way to go right now.

Short Stay ramp just opened back up this past weekend after several weeks of working on it. When running if its calm you can pretty well see where the drops and points/humps are, but if there is a ripple on the water its almost impossible to see the humps intil you are on top of them...

For the most part it is ok to run. I went from canal lakes all the way to hog swamp and back on Sunday without any problems. When you get out of the channel markers you should idle. Fishing has been pretty good.

Those Bass in the puddles will never die on their own. :-D The Local rednecks will have them netted and on a 4 wheeler heading to the hill. With what they are carrying out I don't see how the lake will be able to produce like it used to. Santee is the new Manchester forest for 4 wheelers. Their everywhere.

Hey BT, I went all over that site and there ain't no pic's that I can find. I did see some of the hundred or so four wheels down at Packs last weekend. They say they are riding all over Sparklebery and even further back in the swamp. If there were pics on SCDucks they are gone now. Ron
