Surface water temp. 50 - 51 in upper lake. Fishing was slow - met a couple of fellows catching small crappie on the bottom in 41 - 50 ' and the highlight of my day - I saw a man and his wife catch a "Dandy" 8 - 10 lb. bass off of the bank! A lot of shouting, splashing, and high 5-in going on. Went over and gave my congradulations, the gentleman said he caught it on a fluke in 10 - 12 foot of water. I had noticed him working the drop off very hard with a lot of jerking and twitching that afternoon. I ended up settling with one of the best hot dogs and chilli I've had in a while at the Monticello EZ Mart. I'll try again in Feb. !
