Monticello is a small 6500 acre resevior that can produce some giant sacks. We have had 25 and 28 lb bags that did not get a check. I saw a 44 lb bag weighed. It was 8 fish but still a great bag. This lake is great from mid March until late May. Floating worm, topwater. light texas rigs, jigs. It it one large stump field. If you would like some detailed information pm me.

How is the fishing in the rec lake? Probably gets even less pressure than the big lake?

I have only fished the small lake a couple of times and had a good day both trips. In the past you could not fish but a day or so a week in this lake. I think it is open every day now. Hardly no one fishes it. Somebody told me you could run your big motor in there now also. But I am not sure. the two times i fished it was with minnkota only.
