Had a good afternoon today or should I say a good 1 1/2 hours. Launched at noon mid-lake and caught a fish on the 2nd cast on a shakey head. The next 3.5 hours resulted in the big goose egg Then I remember a creek that had bait and active fish at this time last year. As soon as I got there, fish were schooling in one pocket. I could litteraly see their dorsal fins!!! I threw an SR-5, but they would not touch it. Switched to a shallow runing SR-4 and the fun was on. Boated 13 fish in a little over an hour. In all I had 6 largemouth all between 2 and 3 lbs, 7 stripers and one jack. I hated to quit because they were still bustin right next to the boat everywhere I moved. I snagged 3 shad and they were even smaller than the SR 4!

I threw the the bait on a medium action spinning rod with 8 lb line which made boating the stripers a big challenge, didn't have a back-up bait either. Too bad the lake was empty and no one saw me catch them

What creek did you say that was? just kidding. Sounds like a blast. Always love those days when you figure somethin out

Actually, the creek is not named on any of my maps, and it is a creek off of a creek.
A regular partner of mine and I have named several creesk as : No-name creek #1 and No-name creek #2 etc.... Except, even he doesen't know about this creek

What is the water level like on Murray? Haven't been down in several months and was wandering how bad it was? Could someone let me know in the next day or so?

sorry it took so long for a reply; been out of state visiting family. Lake was down about 5.5' when I caught the fish; it came up about 1.5 to 2.0 after the big rain two weeks ago...got muddy in many places. I haven't been out for about a week, but it was dropping and clearing up.
