Ive heard that the lake is similar to Keowee, am I correct fellows?

Nothing like Keowee.......its clear down towards the dam but doesnt fish like Keowee...Id stay up in the river if I were you. There has been a decent bite up there becuase the water temps were bout 8-10 degrees higher. Its was muddy last weekend but a lot warmer. I saw water temps in the 50's down the lake on Monday but no fish moved up yet...might be different now.

Fished wednesday in the rain water temp down the lake was anywhere from 48 to 51degrees. some fish in 8-10ft range. Nothing like keowee. good luck i will be out again on friday maybe the rain will hold off and we see some sunshine!!

well i'm looking forward to it, i've always heard it was a good lake but this will be my first time out, we're puttin in at dreher island and I just have a 17 ft aluminum boat with a 50 horse motor so i'll probably be fishin within a mile or two of the ramp, but still i'm excited...thanks for the advice

Lots of good fishing around the Dreher area. The water is pretty clear from there to the damn. Stay away from the rivers and the west of the lake unless you like stained water. Try points and secondary points. Docks are good. About any lure should work, but I'd go with a crank or spinnerbait. Good luck

left out of dreher is great fishing thats called crystel lake lots of docks as well as good points try throwing a # 5 and # 7 shad rap in some of the pockets and throw a jig around the docks you should get bite. good luck let me no how you do .

well we had a pretty tough weekend, my boat motor ended up messing up on saturday, and we didn't catch a fish...17 pounds led our club into the second day, and 29 pounds won after two days...we did manage to catch some fish sunday and wound up with big fish at 4.38 lbs...thanks for everyone who posted advice...look forward to coming down and fishing sometime when the water is a little warmer!
