was wondering if any one new if the shad spawn has started , havent ben on murray in a while did not no the water temp. taking the kids this weekend hoping to catch a few .

The herring spawn is starting in some areas, well atleast the fish are schooling. I am assuming they are chasing the herring. A lot of fish are protecting fry and still bedding. it depends on what area of the lake you are on.

Water temp says they should be started, but I haven't seen any signs of a major shad or herring spawn yet. That could change any day now though.
