A couple questions here for Lake Murray.
Whats a good braided line for a carolina rig on a spinning reel that won't ball up??
whats a good weight?? and how deep would you fish a carolina rig here on Murray? Thank you!

I never use braided. I use 14#mono and rarely lose any fish. I normally is 5/16 oz bullets and fish out as deep at 30 ft on a regular basis..

Nano-fil new 14 lbs test green may not be out yet use a 4' mono leader with a mini swivel and 1/2 oz weight less than 10 ft deep

I like 15lb flourocarbon due to its sensitivity. I go with 3/4 sinker and mono on the leader to get more floatation.
But I have to admit that the CR bite is off for me for well over a year.
So, Mike how has your CR bite been? Right now I am going with big Old MOnsters and other large plastics. Have I upgreaded too much? Do I need to go back to smaller rigs with smaller offerings?
At what dept are you catching them now?

Yea I normally use watermelon trick worms and if they are acting finiky I'll drop back to a finess worm & slow down a bit. Lately the better bite has been off points 6-14 ft deep around drehear.
