yesterday as I went to 72 marine I came down Hwy 81 and just as I passed the 35 MPH speed sign ( was slowing down) the wonderful calhoun falls police got me. He was parked just on the turn by the boat place past the park in the curve but could get radar on people passing the sign. I stated I was slowing down and such , he stated "Maybe now you will drive 35 when the sign says it" he pulled me 30 yards past the sign.

So anyone headed down to 72 ramp or the hill watch out they must need to make up some city funds, price of ticket......... $ 180 for doing 51 in a 35 zone

Also just remember do not buy gas or anything in calhoun falls they dont need your money they will be getting mine.

hey steve, sorry about your ticket. they got me there one day, the guy in front of me call me on the cell to tell me they were there. i slowed down a mile or two per hour and they still got me. when i got thru there now if the speed limit is 25 i go 15 thru town. i got 10 mi per hr less than the sigh. i have also been got in jojo town, iva. bw

A few years ago 6 - 10 maybe, the Mayor had to take his phone off the hook. He was getting so many calls from the local residents, The cops were ticketing for even the slightest infraction. One lady go a ticket for backing our into the highway OUT OF HER DRIVEWAY. She complained that she had been doing that for 32 year, two times a day. We used to go fishing over to Russell, well before daylight, on Saturday mornings. The sky would be lit up with BLUE, BLUE, BLUE. The problem seemed to have gone away and now with spring coming and lots of fishermen coming through town, they are at it again. I think the speed limit is 25MPH on Main Street. Don't even think they won't enforce that one.... lots of luck....AND YOU BETTER SLOW DOWN ... retiredguy
