Went to the lake on sunday to see what was going on for my club tournament this coming saturday and it was impossible to get a bite. We had one bite with a swing and a miss and the rest of the day was a ZERO. The water temp was frow 45 to 48. Is this lake ever good when the water temp gets this low? o yeah only hit 2 stumps and managed to keep the prop off of them, i was only idleing

Succession can be a tough egg to crack... It has these firecracker days mixed into weeks of nothing. But it honestly houses some of the biggest bass in the upstate.

---Keys to catching something on those nothing days---
Slow down (snails pace), really pick rock structure apart well (even after your fed up with it), and dont be afraid to downsize your offerings. Also a .3 or .4 degree increase in water temp in a certain area will really concentrate fish on this lake in the cold months. Lots of time in winter it will have a stronger afternoon bite than morning too. I fish shallow in succession 12 months out of the year.

I know I didnt really tell u any big secrets here, but that really is what I do to scrap up a limit on an otherwise $hitty day on the mudhole...

good luck man
