Hey everyone, never been on the lake before and comin down in a few weeks for a tourney. Just wondering what areas of the lake is the clearest and if any sections are typically warmer than others. I do have a map of the lake.

HELLO & wellcome to Secession.

The lower 1/3 is often the clearest but remember that dingy water warms faster.

Jerkbaits , Shad Raps & Jig N Pigs are very hard to beat in late winter/early spring. Me and most everybody I know fish mostly shallow year round. Lake has lots of piers w/ brush close by. Lots of really nice 5#+ fish in it.

If you're there when they are bite'n you can really get a load but, if they shut down they really SHUT-DOWN!! The you'll see why some call it by a differnt set of names; lake SUKCESSION or SUCCESSION Lake DEPRESSION....ect. LOL

Pre-fish'n is OK for first timers,but after that first trip it's the Kiss-O-death!! LOL

JUst make sure you skip your baits up under the docks & try to use lighter wt' baits. CYA
