dose anyone know what tornament was going on today? I saw some people catching the bass but I didnt.

The CATT Fall Final was today...14lbs 11 ozs won with BF 5.07...1st paid $2359.00

Great weight for the win. OK...I have been STRUGGLING on Wateree with the largemouths. I was there all day Friday. Threw just about everything I could think of. Shakey head, crankbait, Rattletrap, jig, and only caught a 14" bass on the trap all DAY.

What the heck were the guys who had 14+ lbs throwing? Deep, Shallow...What?

Caught them all on a 1/2 oz Shooter jig..Robs Craw with a Green Pumpkin ZOOM Super Chunk and he cauight them in 3ft to 6 ft...all off docks.....I know because he was my NBC partner for 3 years plus he told me :-D

The big bite was the difference...fishing has been tough at Wateree and hopefully this coming Spring will be better...

Thanks for the reply. Did try a similiar jig..must of just been in the wrong area.

Wateree can be very tough at times, that's for sure! The bass are there, they seem very particular to the bait being thrown.

I'm still learning these Southern lakes. Back in CT the bass seemed easier to pattern. Find a drop-off or weedbed or rock pile and you could catch em. CT lakes don't have the millions of shad in them like Wateree either.
