Fished the Bruin out of Clearwater...I think 52 boats...weighed in 15 1/2 and had BF at 6.04..finished 3rd....took almost 18 to win...
Lowcountry trail was at the ramp also...to 23 lbs to win...
Wateree Bassmasters had thier club tounry going on and 18 won that....
The water level is changing everyday and you have to hunt for a fish ...

Congrats on 3rd and BF. I fished the Bruin yesterday as well. Had a rough day for sure! Was having trouble hooking anything yesterday. Fish would pick up the plastic, would start to move off, give a 3 count and set. Most of the time the bait just flew right back at me. I know these were bass. Must just be mouthing the bait. Did catch about 5 catfish on soft plastics.
23lbs?? wow!
Broke something big off, not sure it was a bass. Had 2 bass for maybe 3lbs..didn't even weigh in.
OK without giving too much away..what were you using. trying to learn. Were you targetting bedding fish? Points? what? Wateree is a mystery to me.

Only saw 2 bass on the bed that were over 2 pounds...but we fished in the pockets and cuts ...all day long fished 1/2 oz Shooter Crawdad and 1/2 oz Bl/Blue jigs...cast at everything, grass, rocks and wood...some bass were not relating to anything...this works every year on Wateree...we had 10 bites Friday and only 7 Sat...I also had a couple of bites that I missed but I pitched in the same place and caught a 12 incher...Duke has really screwed with the water level this Spring...Thurs was 97.6 and Friday dropped to 97....by Sat morning it was 96.3...when the water level changes that much it is hard to catch anything...

Water is still a little too muddy to site fish. I fished the Bruin as well and had 4 for 8.68 with 4.55 as big fish. I struggled bad! I thought it might be alright because I had 3 in the boat by 8. after that I had 2 bites the rest of the day. I just can't believe that someone caught 23lbs Sat????? But someone always seems to figure them out! VERY HUMBLEING!!!! 1 on a jig 1 on a cb and 2 on wormz.
