Pop and I made a trip to Wateree for the first time in over 6+ years. Launched out of Taylor Creek Access about 630AM. Fished all kinds of depths, water, structure, etc... Threw everything but the kitchen sink and if I could attached hooks to the sink I might of considered that too. Water temps was 79 when we launched and when we came back in at 5PM it was 81. Water is definitely got a heavy stained but not muddy either. Again that's probably typical for Wateree. We fished back in creeks, secondary points, main points, docks, brush, laydowns, rocky points, main lake stumps, grass, etc... Nothing the whole day
. The only luck we had was jigging spoon and they produced about a dozen white perches and 5 catfishes
. Missed a few bites off shakey head, CR, and frogs in the weed. Again those could of been bream or catfish biting anyways. Spent half the day deep cranking DT20's in 15 - 20+ ft. water with out a nibble. Flipped and pitched docks for many hours with out a nibble. Buzzbait in the morning without any blow ups. CR main lake and secondary rocky points without any thing. Indeed the lake is as beautiful as it's always been but a bit more boat traffic then it use to be. No bass but the time out was priceless hanging out with the pop and just enjoying the scenery
. It's been over 1 months since I've been on the boat so I was just glad to smell lake water
.
