Hi everybody. New to the website, but I have been reading it for a while. I fished wateree yesterday. Started off in the morning in the back of Colonel creek with a buzzbait. I saw a lot of fish chasing bait fish and birds diving. I caught three bass on a buzzbait, the biggest was close to 3 pounds, and had what looked like a bowling ball explode on my bb and broke my line off. That was my only one I had so I tied on a spinner bait and caught another one close to 3 pounds. Nothing more in there so I went up the river and saw birds diving. Fished the spinner bait around birds and nothing, unless the bait fish moved up on a shallow bar, then I could cast up there and I would catch one. I caught 11 or 12. After noon, they wouldnt bite any more.

Welcome to the site DB. :-D Nice post, it gives a guy some idea of what they're doing up at Wateree. Some people share lots of info, others share very little. The bass were smacking the dog poo out of a jig this past Sat...over 20 lbs won the CATT Final....

i fished the sportsman open tx on the 8th. did ok.
finished 3rd with 12.05. caught mine with jigs around stumps but
big fish(4.85) came on shaky head beside bridge column. good luck.
