Fished BFL this weekend. Went up tuesday night to start practice on Wednesday. Had some boat issues and didnt get out on the water till about 3. (boat plug was missing, and 1 trim bolt was gone as well), caught several fish on a shaky head trick worm. Fished for about an hour on thursday before I gave up because of the wind. Caught 2 on a shaky head as well. Friday, just gave up and didnt bother fishing becuase of the rain falling sideways (guess I am getting old or something). Saturday, by 830 am I thought for sure that I would make the day 2 cut, but it just didnt work out. caught 1 first thing on a pop r in about 30 foot of water, then caught 2 more on a spinnerbait (1 on a dock, the other on a laydown) and that was all she wrote. Couldnt buy a keeper bite after that. ended up with 3 for 7'12 and 1 fish out from making the cut. Probably the first time all year that I didnt get one on a shaky head.

I was disappointed also. I fished on the co-angler side and missed the cut by 4 oz. i weighed in 2 at 3-09 lbs, caught one on a sammy and one on floating worm. also had one 13 incher and had topwater hits all day but couldn't hook em. partner caught 4 keepers and several 13's. hope i can get them at the regional.

Well, I did worse than both of you! I caught one for 2 pounds on the boater side. I had fish biting all week, then of course when it comes tourney time, it all goes in the can. The only good thing is that somehow that one fish boosted me up enough to make the regional.

I hear ya on the line problems Roadkill. For years I have only been using PLine CXX. But at the regional, I tried to the PLine Flouroclear. I lost two of my biggest fish on it during the first day of the tournament, though it was working all practice. I really think when you use a certain line you adjust your hooksets, casts, etc., to what that particular line can handle. Then when you switch up brands or styles there is a re-adjustment period.
