Tried the creek today. Man what a day. My partner and I ended the day with over 37 Bass. We fished from safelight up to 12:45. They bit everything and everywhere. We talked to another fisherman that caught over 50 fish before 8:00 am. Out of the 37 we caught only 10 were less than 12" weights ranged from 1 lb up to 4 lbs. we left them biting. Mayflies were also every where with bream sipping them down. Small spinners and jigs were the baits of choice.

Where you fishing a tournament? If so, how did you do?

No, we were going to Wateree but with the BFL there decided to go to the creek. I'm glad we did. We also had a bunch of fish get off comming to the boat.

I read your report yesterday afternoon and decided to give the Creek a try. I caught more bass in 3 hrs than all day Sat. on Wateree. No big fish, lots of 12" and a few 2lbers. All caught on Carolina rig. Very quiet out there, not many boats at all.

We went back this past weekend and did a little better on the numbers but the size of the fish got smaller. The first weekend the water was high and this past weekend the water had dropped over 1 foot. We did not see any schooling fish. A local said he saw some big schooling fish 4 & 5 lbs but he was up the river. I don't go there. I hear it is kind of tricky if you don't know it. Very little company. I just wish it was closer. I'm sure it was a lot better than Murray.

I will have to go introduce myself to the river then. I havent been past Cane creek (if that is the one up there)...but shouldnt be too hard in my boat. The area by the powerlines as you go up is the trickiest for me.
