Went up yesterday to fish and the public ramp had closed down? Does anybody have a ramp giving the public access? If so where is it. The one on Boyds Mill Pond road is dirt and you can't put a big boat in there. Oh well looks like they have the Big Bass Lake all to themselves.

Joey, there is a concrete ramp on the pond, a tackle store there also, (never caught it open). Charle and I fished it a couple of times... I don't know how you go up there but, we went up Hwy 25, made that right turn that takes you over there, went down that road. We found road going down to it.. The road will fool you, you will think you are in someone's driveway. Of course, it is not very well marked and I don't remember how it is marked. All I remember is a couple of signs and a lot of bushes around the entrance of the road... I'm sure someone can tell you how to get to it... good fishing... retiredguy

im glad im not the only one that cant find that place...i have driven all over that place and havent found a place to launch yet. i have a john boat so the dirt ramp will work for me. i tried to use map quest to boyds mill pond rd but no results. any help is appreciated.

RG I think we talking about the same place, Boyds Mill Pond or Small lake. I think the bait and tackle stores name was John's, but it's not open and we drove all the way back there, cause the sign was down out at the road, CLOSED!

SS if you coming from Greenwood on hwy.25, take the exit on right Hwy.252, stay right after gettting off and guessing on miles, but give or take 4 +/- the Boyds Mill Pond road is on left, after crossing bridge at dam. You can see the spill way to your left. Turn to left and then dirt ramp is on left just a short distance.
SS hope this helps, cause if you have a Johnny and can get it in, you may catch you one 10 plus if you catch'em on one of those good days.

I wish John hadn't closed the place!
