Tried Lake Cherokee again this morning. Got there at daylight about 6 AM and left about 10:00 AM. Caught a couple dinks and one nice fish about 2 1/2 lbs all off T/R worms. Threw a crankbait and a popper with no luck. Water was 84 degrees and clear. Met Bill Davis while I was there. We shot the breeze for a good while. Nice to have finaly met you Bill. RM

Nice meeting you too RM. Sorry the fish wouldn't come out and play. I fished for about an hour after you left, no luck, just a couple dinks out of the bushes. It just got too hot for me. Let me know when you want try Cherokee or any other lake.

Cherokee is a electric only lake no gas motor. You may be able to get a small bass boat in there but the ramp is shallow so wear shorts and be ready to get wet. I use my 14 ft johnboat for all these small lakes and the rivers. It's got a 20 hp gas motor. I have fished the Pacolet before in several places. Johnboat required for that. The Pacolet is pretty shallow and only has primitive mud landings. Use to do OK on it but nothing special. I prefer the Broad River myself, bigger, deeper, and has a more consistant flow rate but it's even low this year. RM
