Planning on launching out of Bushy Park on the Cooper. Coming from the upstate and Lake Lanier in Atlanta all of this low country fishing looks to be a challenge. Any general ideas on how to catch bass on the Cooper River and GCR? I've not fished either but the old wise man is towing my boat down for Memorial weekend so thought I'd go make an attempt at some tugging. Anything of dangers besides the gators for a first timer like me :-D Looking at both bodies of water at the ramps they are littered with some sort of vegetation. Does anyone know of boat and motor restrictions at Goose Creek Reservoir? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you ahead.

No restrictions on the GC reservior.. I have took my TR 21 in there. It is safe to run, just shut down when about 50-75 yards from the bank and idle to where you want to fish..
If you launch out of Bushy Park I would just stay down there and fish. Plenty of fish being caught this time of year.. If you go out in the River, becareful of the Rice fields at high tide, you can run up in one before you know it....

Thanks for the information Hardcore. I appreciate it. If I get out this weekend I'll post back a report on how things went. Looking forward to it.

Appreciate the insight Hardcore. I got out for a few hours then work called me back in. But it was great to finally see how Bushy Park is like. Definatley a different type of fishing for me. We couldn't put any fishes in the boat but did have a few catch and release at the side and lost a couple in the vegetation. This was all a new style of fishing for me. Had 2 missed strikes on buzzbait, 3 missed stikes on frogs, 2 to throw my jig at the boat, had a 5+ # in the vegegations but could not get her out so she eventually shook off. Looking forward to doing it again. Thanks again.
