Got the johnboat motor together and went to try it out today. It runs OK which sure made me happy. Fished some backwater when I couldn't get a bite in the river. Caught 2 good keepers over a lb each on a pumkinseed worm. Found some decent water so I tied the only SB I had with me on and BOOM I caught the biggest fish I've caught in several years. Twin blade brass with a chartruse skirt and trailer. The deliar said it was 7lb 3 oz and it lies light pretty bad so it probably close to 8 in real life. Short very fat fish like the river has but it didn't fight much. Guess the water being cold has them slow. Shortly after that still throwing the SB I caught another nice fish that was 3lb 8 oz so it was probably about 4 lbs really. That was it though, they just locked up and I couldn't get a bite the next several hrs. Great to catch some fish and always fun to catch a big one. Water was clear to lightly stained with temps from 47 to 56 depending on location. RM
