I went for the first time last Sunday and me and a friend of mine caught 19 smallies and 2 largemouth. I caught a smallie about 3lbs. It was very fun. If you go, please release these fish. This is a very good thing that they have there and if everyone starts keeping the fish, it will not be able to take that kind of abuse. Have fun and catch a bunch.

WOW!! I had no idea there were smallies there. I love catching smallies. That 4lb 10 oz fish is a beauty!! I may need to give that a try the next time I visit my in laws.

Zoom Speed Craws and small jigs with a small plastic trailer work great also. Does everyone else catch more in the warmer water vs the cooler water like I do?

Yes, I catch more in the warmer water as well. I fish the river from NC down to Cola and its all good. If you ever need more content on specifically rivers, there is a good website for SC rivers with a message board too. Here is the link.
