Ok, I need someone to describe to me what their idea of what a floating worm is suppose to look like? I hear a lot of anglers say that they fish a floating worm. Back years ago when the expression Floating Worm came about there was a company actually making a worm that they specifically called a Floating Worm. Let me hear some of ya'lls idea of what a Floating Worm is suppose to look like?

A foot under the surface and having a side to side motion. Colors vary and are important if you want to see the bait and watch the fish come up to get it.

Very good description of how a floating worm is fished Booger but the question was to tell me what a true floating worm looks like. How long is it, is it fat or skinny, does it have a ribbon tail, paddle tail, straight tail, describe what the worm looks like.........................

I use a Zoom trick worm in the merthiolate color

Well sometimes it's one of the 6 inch style worms in various colors and other times it's the Tiki-stick style worm in various colors. Flat tail or straight tail is mainly the ones that I've had luck with. But main thing is what do the fish want and go from there, according to water color. Plus how aggressive are they and it doesn't matter what you put in front of them, cause they have the feed sack on.

I fish a floating worm a bunch....I use the Zoom trick worm almost always in white...reason I like it more than others is this...

to me it seems the worm is a tad bit heavy in the front and the back and the middle is slim because there is less plastic...I like to hold my rod high and twitch so that the worm is on top just like a top water bait... with the weight in front and back it gives the worm great action.. twitch it 3 times or so and the tail sways side to side in a big way and I like that action...bass do too...whackem good on every lake I fish..Murray, Wateree, Santee, Greenwood, etc

Well Booger, I never thought about that but you are 100% correct. They can be flaoting a worm on a C-rig in 30 foot of water HUH?......... I know if they are using one of my worms you can bet it is floating for sure........... and it don't matter how deep it is........ . Unless you have a weight actually attached to the worm itself it will not be on the bottom.......... Sorry your using Hexed baits and I promise I will send you UN-hexed baits next time..........
