Tried the super flukes on a local river this weekend. Fished with Gamakatsu (?sp) 5/0 EWG hook, rigged texposed. If I let the fish have it until I felt them pullling, I did not miss, but if I set the hook on sight of bite, I would miss every time. Thanks for all of your input on this, it did help me.

I'm glad you did well on th flukes BD. Waiting till you feel the fish on the line really does help with the hook sets. I have learned not to watch my baits because I will indeed take it away from them if I see it get gone and don't feel the fish first...... I seldom watch any of my top water baits because I will take those away also........ I was fishing some heavy matted grass one time and I was fishing a scum frog and I had a fish come up and hit the frog several trying to bust through the mat to get it and it knocked the frog up off the mat 6 inches several times and finally made a hole big enough for it to get at the frog and when it got a good shot at it the fish flushed the frog. I think that is the only time I can remember not setting the hook on the blow and I caught a nice 4 pound Bass along with about 10 pounds of weeds. Sure glad I was using 80 lb Test Braid and had a very tough extra heavy rod.........
