I have a friend that has late 1995 Nitro 190 DC with a 1999 Johnson 175 on the back of it.
He's been running a 26" pitch stainless steel prop by recently broke it and is now running his back up prop (which is some cheap aluminum prop). I'm thinking he needs to go down to a 24 or 25 pitch?
First of all I have a better hole shot in my tub than his boat. He has a real hard time getting the front end of the boat to drop and plain off. Sometime he even has to "swirve" the boat side to side to get the front end to drop.
He's been getting all sorts of advice on how to fix the problem. Anything from "try a four blade to get the boat out of the water quicker" and "drop the motor, it's too high." That one I'm not so sure of. The "bullet" on the motor is sitting about even with the pad.
Even while on plain, the boat sits in the water just in front of the consoles. Normally the only part of the boat in the water is behind the seats, right? She's only running high 50's to 60 mph (per the GPS).
So I'm here trying to get some more advice. Y'all got any for me that I could pass on to my buddy?

Talked to my friend and he said he's not sure what the model number is but he knows it's a "carbed" model. He also said the pad-to-center line of the gear case is 2.5" below right now.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!

He'll never spin that 26" prop up with that motor. He needs a 23 gade of a 24 raker maybe a 22 raker. Make sure his throttle plates are opening fully.
