I have a 2002 Johnson 225hp. The motor has been running fine. I was idling around today for about 15 minutes checking my depthfinder when the alarm went off and the check engine light came on. I shut the boat off and checked what I could. I could not find anything wrong. Everytime you crank the boat the alarm will go off for about 30 seconds and the check engine light will come on. The alarm will stop but the light stays on. The motor is running fine, I dont understand what the problem could be. Anybody got any suggestions?

Is this a carb'd motor. :-?

If so, I think it has something to do with a fuel restriction. :shock:

check for water in the fuel flter

Sorry, been out of town. Actually it's an 01. The problem was a hole in the fule line where it goes into the fuel pump.
