I was fishing a local club Tournament this past weekend on Wateree and made it until the last hour with no problems. I went to take off and got it on plane, the alarm went off, and the
Temp and oil alternately flashed with the alarm sounding every other flash so I set it down, idled and shut off. Cranked back up and the alarms started again so I checked the water, pee flow was good, and oil in boat reservoir was over half full. Book tells me it could be an over –speed RPM. I do not think I ventilated out and surpassed. (I never have before) Anyway, put it back in gear and had to ride with alarms about five miles back up to landing with alarm. Then low and behold I drop it off plane coming in and idle in and the alarm and lights quit sounding. I get home, pull the cowl, and check the oil tank up in the motor and it was full too. I put it on the earmuffs/ hose at home and still no alarm and motor running good as it did on the lake. I talked to a mechanic and he tells me that if it a sensor going bad he cannot fix it until it keeps alarming and does not quit. So.... I am to keep taking it to the lake and wait for it to happen again. YUK!!!!
This motor is too old to have a code report in the computer. I would appreciate any ideas of direction to go!
