I have a 2007 4 stroke 25hp Mercury on a 17ft Bass Tracker. I usually max out between 5400-5500 rpms...As I was riding down the lake today wide open, the rpm's dropped to 5000. Speed also dropped. Motor was still running as smooth as ever, I just wasn't getting the rpms and speed. Later on in the day, I had to cross over some turbulent water and the rpms jumped back to where they normally were at around the 5500 mark and my speed was back as well. Any idea of what may have caused those rpms to drop for that short period of time and then come back after some rough water?

I havent thought about that, but it might have been. I don't think it is anything to worry about though. I even thought of maybe some trash in the gas. Thanks for your input
