Fishing saterday and I was on plain and my motor shut off it restarted fine but had a skip and I tried to get back on plain but I had a steady alarm going off I waited about 5 min after removing the cowl and found nothing out of they ordinary started its back up gat on plain and the motor shut off agian could not get on plain without a steady alarm had to idle back I had a steady stream of water out of the pee hole but its was running alittle rough my motor is a 175 optimax any suggested help would be helpful its out of warranty

Id take it to your local dealer & have them take a look at it. Got to figure out why the alarm is going off. Not sure.
I'd also get a compression test done.
Hopefully its something small and inexpensive to repair.

Well good news bad news the problem was my water pump the bad news is its ran very hot on my way back to the dock the alarm wasent sounding so I thought I was not causeing any damage not the case it had reached a temp of 230 normal temp is 140 I have to replace the o rings on the cylinder heads and them water pump and hope my compression test come back ok total repair 600 $ thats is my compression test comes back ok

not good. Hopefully it didnt scar the cyl walls. I'd deffinatly have them test the overheat sensors as well!

ok well my power head has a small crack in the block does anyone know of anybody that does marine engine repair the block is aluminum with steel sleves im pretty mechanicaly inclined the crack is very small and i think it can be tig welded i plan on doing a valve job and replacing the pistons with new rings i called alot a machine shops and nobody does marine repair like that any help with somebody that does marine engine repair around the greenville area im just trying to save money so i can take it apart and put it back togather just need a machine shop to weld it up if it will hold its not in the cooling sleve just around the top of the sleve

You might try Don Weed at European Marine. Just don't spend your money on a valve job. 2 strokes don't have valves.
