ive got a 00 triton tr19 with a 2000 evinrude ficht 175 on her. when i bought the boat in feb it ran like a champ, it would plane out fast and would top out at 66. over the last two months or so the holeshot has gotton slower and slower to the point that i dont think its ever gonna plane out and it tops out around 60 now. where do i start to diagnose and fix my problem?

Buy a mercury

First off fichts like spark plugs so a plug change may help you out if it hasnt been done in the last 75 hours. Ive seen some that will eat them every 6 months.

The plugs need to be indexed when you put them in. If you search here championman has a post about it.

If that doesnt fix it then you need to have it put on the computer to see what codes may be in the EMM. Your local evinrude dealer should be able to do this however call them and make sure they can. Some dealers do not service the DI / fichts past 2004 as they do not have the software or cables.

If you make an appointment most dealers will do this while you wait so your not leaving your boat at a shop for a few weeks.
