My aerator pump stopped working and it leaks into the bilge. I have all Mayfai/ johnson pump cartridges in my boat. I have changed them before without a problem. This one is 15 years old and I can't get the cartridge to come out of the pump housing. I have moved the "black clip" as the directions say, but the cartridge won't turn. Considering drilling a hole in top of cartridge so that I can stick a screwdriver in and get better leverage. Suggestions?it so I can

Sounds like it overheated and has expanded into the cartrage housing, possibly melted togeather.. The leverage may work but it could crack the housing as well. Either way its got to come out so be as gental as you can or just plan on replacing the assembly.
