Been working on the little motor CM. I had a 20 HP 1967 motor and I got a 25 HP 1972 that I am swapping the power head to my stuff. I wanted to use my Carb but the bolt pattern is different. My carb has a smaller bore and the bolts are a narrower pattern. I was told the only difference in the 20 and 25 HP motors was the carb. I pulled the big carb apart and cleaned it up but if it has problems and I want to use my carb can I swap the base plate over the reeds and use it that way or do you think I can slot the bolt holes on my carb and use it like that? I decided to use the newer stuff with the neutral safety devices too so I'm swapping alot of stuff around to get everything to work. If it runs OK I guess it's a cheap way out but if it runs bad this was a big waste of time.......LOL. So what you think about the carbs? RM

Just got it running and it seems OK in a bucket of water so I guess the carb will be OK. Still got to rig some stuff up for a choke since that was missing from the 25 but hope to come up with something that will work. Need to set the timing and linkage set up then should be able to try in in the river. RM
