I finally got around to swapping out that in dash flasher. I have run the transducer wire and everything. I really don't want to mount it externally on the transom. I have a habit of breaking things like that. The directions say I can use it thru hull if I have no materials with air in them (plywood or fiberglass with air). I would think my 1996 19.1 champion would be ok to epoxy the transducer in the bilge wouldn't it?

Yes. Make sure you you eliminate all the air bubbles by wiggling the X-ducer in the epoxy and let it sit for at least 8 hours to set up., place it as close as you can to the center line of the hull as far back as you can.
