Either every 300 hours or 3 years whichever comes first. This of course depends on where you run your boat. In shallow water change it more frequently. When I replace one I ALWAYS replace it with a complete kit not just an impeller. Watch your H20 gauge also that is a good indication of pump performance. CM

H2O Pressure gauge is the MOST IMPORTANT engine instrument you can have in your boat, just as important than the tach IMHO. It will tell you when your pump is starting to go south on you. It will also tell you if you are maintaining water pressure in sharp turns. I think they should be standard in EVERY bass boat. I can't speak for other brands, but if you are running a Mercury, you should have a minimum of 15psi at WOT. I agree 100% with ChampioNman -- do the whole kit, not just the impeller.
