I JUST NOTICED THE OTHER DAY THAT MY RPMs WERE RUNNING A LITLE HIGH COMPARED TO THE SPEED. WHAT IS THE STANDARD FOR A 1998 200EFI? IT WAS RUNNING AROUND 6200. IF THAT IS TOO HIGH WHAT CAN CAUSE THIS AND I WONDER WHAT IT WOULD COST TO FIX IT? THANKS

My partners Stratos with an E-Tech on it does that and he reaches up and punches the RPM guage face with his hand and the RPMs drop back to normal. That does not mean yours is doing that but might want to thump it a few times and see if RPM guage is sticking. My Skeeter w/ a Yamaha will do that ever so often. I know I am not running faster than normal and the Mortor is not reving any higher but guage is showing about 6200. I will normally come down off the pad and slow some and if that does not help I will shut down and then reload it back up and then it works ok again. Have had it checked but won't act up when it's at the doctors office...........

I beleive red line on that motor is 6300. It would be safeer at 5800. Check your prop for damage...
