A pound dead fish penalty is pretty ridiculous when the highs are in the high 90s and water temps around 90 degrees. some spots cant handle it

The purpose of this benefit tournament is to help a long-time fisherman and his family in their battle against cancer. The club that he has been a member of for many years has these same rules/penalities for dead fish. You rarely see a dead fish at the club's weigh-ins, including the summer months at Keowee. If supporting the purpose of this tournament is not your primary reason to fish it, then this is probably not the tournament for you.

Remember we are starting early and will end at 1:00 p.m. to avoid some of the heat and boat traffic. I will be at the ramp at 4:00 a.m. to register folks. Hope to see a lot of you there!

Thanks to the folks who turned out today. Weather was nice as was boat traffic until about 11:00 a.m., then it got hot and crowded. Fish seemed to be biting as some good bags were weighed in. Results:

1st: Nalley/Eves 12.25 lbs
2nd: Upton/Knight 11.55 lbs
Big Fish: Taplin/Scarborough 3.85 lbs
