At the Greenwood tournament on 3-6-10, I had a team(Shifferly and Underwood) bring me 3 fish to weigh. They had one fish that went 6.90 lbs, and one of the others did not measure. This was the first time i've had a short fish brought to me and I made the wrong call(even though the rule is written on the weigh in ticket.
..Duh!!), because I tried to use my memory instead of looking at what I should do.
...which was cull the short bass weight and deduct 1 pound from total weight...I told him he would loose his big fish and the short fish, and that was wrong for which I apologize. I have since gotten in touch with the team and paid them the second big fish money they were due. These guys were very undestanding, and I appriciated that
. I'm not perfect , and I have made mistakes before and i'm sure I will again, but be assured I will do all I can to correct them when they happen. Thanks to all that fish with us, and I look foward to seeing ya'll on Hartwell
.
