Open Benefit Bass Tournament Proceeds from Tournament and auction benefit Eric and Chey Petrus

Eric will be 29 this July and has been battling
cancer for 9 years. He had a bone marrow
transplant late last year and is currently in
remission. However, his immune system is very
suppressed. On April 25th, Eric was admitted
to the hospital with pneumonia, regular type flu
and Swine flu. He was placed on a ventilator
and was heavily sedated as he struggles to figh
for his life. Through his 9 year illness, Eric
managed to finish college and was married. But,
he became ill again before he was employed.
So, he is currently without health insurance.

Here is my nephews story put in a recent email to invite others to the auction and tournament this sat, from my wife.

Many of you are aware that my nephew (who will be 29 on July 10th) was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease over 9 years ago. He has been battling this awful cancer since then and has been through many trials with this horrible disease. He had a bone marrow transplant late last year and was finally placed in "remission" by his team of doctors in Maryland. He and his wife returned back home to Greenwood after 5 - 6 months up in Maryland. He was in remission for about 8 months when he became ill with Pneumonia due to his suppressed immune system. After being hospitalized in Greenwood in March, they determined that he not only had Pneumonia, but also Swine flu and regular type flu! He has been hospitalized since then (was recently transferred back to Maryland) and has been fighting hard for his life. He developed fluid on his pancreas and they found that he needs major surgery to repair a severed portion of his pancreas. They have done a few procedures in an attempt to avoid the surgery (due to his weakness and state of his immune system); however, the procedures failed and he is scheduled for surgery this coming Tuesday.
I am first and foremost asking for everyone's prayers for my nephew. In addition, because of the timing of his recurrences of these illnesses and his age at when they recurred, Eric and his wife have no insurance. My husband came up with a wonderful idea for a few fundraisers for Eric and his wife (Cheyanne). There will be a benefit fishing tournament next Saturday in Anderson, SC. If you would like more information, please reply to my message and I will get that to you. Also, we are having an online auction with many different items that have been donated for this cause. It is very easy to bid on these items and there are many great gift ideas there. Please pass this information onto your family and friends and help us to help Eric and Cheyanne with their mounting medical bills. If you know anyone who would like to donate, please get that information to me.
