The second tournament of our 2014 spring trail is coming up on Saturday 3/1 at Keowee, launching from Gap Hill Marina. The event is from safe light until 3 pm. We had 39 boats last month, and expect the same at this tourney. Our remaining schedule is:

3/1 KEOWEE GAP HILL
4/5 HARTWELL PORTMAN
5/3 KEOWEE GAP HILL
6/7 HARTWELL PORTMAN

We will be using the same format as last year, $50 per team entry fee, $10 optional big fish pot, and $10 per angler membership. 10%, $5, from every entry goes to charity. We are supporting the Overcomers program at Miracle Hill, which is a Christian recovery program for men struggling with addiction. For more details on the trail and rules, visit our website at http://www.palmettoboatcenter.com/index.php/tournament-information/9-uncategorised/109-2014-palmetto-boat-center-spring-tournament-trail

$10 of each entry is held back for a points fund, and we will pay three places. From each $10, $6 goes to first, $3 to second, and $1 to third.

Our series is included in the incentive programs for Skeeter, Nitro, and Phoenix, provided we have enough participants. For Skeeter and Phoenix, we need 30 teams / 60 people. For Nitro/Tracker, we need 20 teams/40 people.

Hope you will come out and fish a laid back, fun trail.

Thanks, Marty

Looking forward to this event. The way these tourneys are ran is top-notch. It's hard to find a professional ran tourney at an affordable entry. I would recommend this trail to anyone.

PBC pays pretty good for the low entry fee. I know for a fact no one makes a dime on the trail. All of the money held that is not paid back goes to a Charity every year. PBC does it for the anglers looking for a affordable tournament to fish.

I will be there Saturday to have a blast. No practice for me as I am boatless right now.

Is there any issue or reason/suggestion as to putting in across from Gap Hill and boating over for registration? That's a tight ramp with limited parking. Has anyone had an issue putting in from across the creek? Thanks!

Yes, I believe the final number was 38 or 39.

Dag, 3rd place out of almost 40 boats barely gets your entry back.... If this is fact, then it doesn't sound like a good pay back to me.

I happy to answer these questions.

- You are welcome to launch at Gap Hill, Mile Creek, or any other ramp on the lake and come to registration by water. One member of the team will need to come up to the registration table to sign in, pay entry fee, etc. There will be someone on the gas dock at Gap Hill doing livewell checks prior to blast off. If you put in a Gap Hill, you can trailer before weighing your fish if you wish, but if you put in somewhere else, you can not trailer. Also, Rocky does not charge a launch fee for tournament participants. That being said, we do encourage everyone to support his store. Most are familiar with Rocky's health issues.

- Payout Schedule. We pay 1 place per five entries. From each $50 entry, $5 goes to charity, $10 goes to the points fund, and $35 gets paid back at the event. The payout schedule is now posted on our website at . I do ask everyone to remember that the mission of this tournament trail is to offer a quality tournament series for an affordable entry fee, while raising some money for a charity. You aren't going to get rich fishing this trail, but you may win a little bit of money while having a lot of fun.

- The optional big fish pot is a 100% payback.

- The first tournament at Hartwell in February had 39 entries. There were originally 40 however, one team withdrew prior to takeoff due to engine problems. We paid 8 places and the payout was:
1. $640
2. $330
3. $100
4. $100
5. $75
6. $40
7. $40
8. $40 (there was a tie for 8th, so each team received $20)
Big Fish = $390

Thanks, Marty

Everything looks good too me in your rules and I think the lower entry fee tours are great. Especially a trail format with points and AOY.
