60 boats fished our sixth event this year at Lake Keowee, and 41 of them weighed in a limit. Keowee has really started producing some good bags with a variety of patterns. We saw a lot of largemouth with the typical mix of spots.

Casey Nicholson and Dustin Ross won the tournament with a 16.7 pound limit (that is heavier than the June winning weight from Hartwell!). Casey also won the Skeeter Reel Money Bonus by winning the tournament in his 2014 Skeeter Bass Boat.

Second place went to trail regulars Ed Reeves and Brent McWhorter with a limit of spotted bass weighing 15.75. The big fish of the day was weighed in by Dylan Twichell and Andy Burgess, a 5.33 pound largemouth.

Updated points will be posted later this week. I can tell you that the points race is going to be close, I mean really close going into our final event on Lake Hartwell in October. The points champions win $1,000, and the top two teams that are eligible will get a shot at the Bassmaster Team Championship.

Looks like there will be 50-55 teams that will make the classic two day tournament. Currently the cut in points is approximately 230. Remember you can get in with perfect attendance too.

• Points Champion wins $1,000
• Points calculated on best five tournaments
• New Two Day Classic ($100 entry fee), two lakes, total weight.
• Classic winner guaranteed $5,000.
• Top 30% in points qualify for Classic.
• If you fish every event, you automatically qualify for the Classic.
