Just a heads up... There's a National HS qualifier going on this weekend (14th) on Hartwell out of Portman I believe. Was told between 300 and 325 boats. Looks like a good day to go to Russel.

Don’t think Portman can handle that many boats - if there is one that big I’d guess venue be Green Pond. Classic is cool to have but you turn into a regional tournament lake..... hope hartwell can handle it

I agree. Kind of wish the classic would stay away from here. A father of one of the HS kids from Bama that's fishing contacted me through bbc. He's the one that told me they were putting in at Portman. They may be splitting them up.

One of the HS teams asked me to "captain" a boat for them and they said they would go out of Green Pond.

I honestly don't understand why they have to fish lake hartwell there are so many other lakes to fish in the area, wasn't the bassmaster classic enough, now you have to go and put 100+++ anglers on the lake and mess up the prime time bass fishing for the local tournaments and were all supposed to happy and greatful, bs....... I disagree!!!!!! What about the working men who spend all year waiting for this time a year just to sit back and hope the lake doesn't turn to crap and pray all the fish they do catch actually live to be caught again!
