Spent the last four days at lake Gaston. Had a good time and caught a lot of fish. Even had a couple 4 pounders. Well now I have a club tx at Norman on May 10 and I won't get to prefish. Any help would be appreciatted. Putting in at 150 bridge or stumpy creek.

Arae,
It was tough buddy. We put in at the 150 bridge and started at 6 am. Most guys went downlake from there, I went up river. Everyone pretty much tried the same thing - spinner bait, crankbait, topwater on points, shoals, bridges until sun got over the trees. The main lake structure we hit was in Stumpy/ Cornelius Creek. Picked up a few dinks, but for the most part the main lake structure/ hardbait bite was off. The guys that went down lake reported the same thing. Only one person limited on SB he went to the coal plant discharge first thing and picked up three quick fish there, then struggled for two fish the rest of the day in the back of Cornelius creek. The rest of us switched up to plastic. I flipped docks from 9 am to 10 am usinga senko - no luck. I went up to the state park way in the back by the bridge and spillway and fished shakey head and mojo. They wanted small baits They would pick up a lizard but the lizard ripped in half a hookset because they only had the tail. Went to a finesse worm and started hooking up. Had 9 fish 6 of which were on shakey head or mojo. Thatwas a 1.5 pound average. They still seem really post spawn lethargic. Biggest fish was 2.5. They are not to a true summer pattern yet. They may be by the time you get there.
