Fished the NC State invitational on Falls Lake this last weekend. First day of practice was friday and I couldnt get on a pattern to save my life. Caught one short up near the S-Turns and thats pretty much it. first day of tournament was pretty much the same, except for 0 bites. At the end of the day, Eastern Kentucky led with 12 lbs, and Virginia Tech had landed a 9 lb fish. Day two i headed to the dam and fished a point the entire day day where the channel swung very close. We put one keeper in the boat and I also boated 4 fish between 15-15.5 inches. We probably had about 12 pounds the final day, but only one would measure. Had a lot of fun and caught a lot of big fat fish. Eastern Kentucky, and Murray State, first and second place after day 1, both zeroed the second day and Virginia Tech's other team (the one that didnt catch the 9 lb fish) caught 16 pounds to end with 22 even and take the win. Falls is a good lake, I just wish I could of had more time there, but midterms kept me in columbia.

Glad you enjoy your trip to NC, did you get to fish the Barton Creek(lower or upper) area? What was the water temp.s like? By the way my son ins in college here in Nc at the UNC at Pembroke. How does the tourney work you fished in? Is there a link to a site about it? Again hope you do better next time here in NC. God bless.

yeah, my fish were all caught in one area down in honeycutt creek by the dam. To fish college tourneys you have to have a team that is recognized by the university. you can check our team out at www.freewebs.com/gamecockbassteam. Tell your son to shoot me an email at mathisg@mailbox.sc.edu and I can give him some information if he is interested in getting a team together at pembroke. unc-charlotte just started a team a few months ago.
