What season would you all consider the fish to be in right now? This is my first year fishin the lake or any lake actually. I'm trying to apply the things I keep reading about and am having a tough time detecting the seasonal patterns. I guess what im getting to is in what month would you consider the fish to be in a more deep structure "summer pattern"? Do summer bass in bowen relate to bottom structure more or suspend? I have not had any topwater luck out there at all. Does topwater action tend to pick up on summer mornings and evenings? Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm guessing it's turning into summer, but who knows? The best advice I can give you is probably to watch other people if you're new to the lake. That's how we started ( there wasn't a map back then) and eventually you'll find more and more places. Putting in the time on the lake to figure things out is probably the next best thing to do. It's hard to know what the fish are doing if you don't keep up with them. I don't know anything about suspending fish, but that's something to look into. Topwater is hit and miss sometimes...It looks like you've caught a 10 lber and came in second on the Bassmasters tourny....maybe you should tell us some stuff.

yeah, it seems that way. But those were just two lucky events, not a consistent thing at all! If anyone wants to shoot me an email at philip.stone@ch2m.com id be glad to share some information! i really think that i need to do some more morning fishing, we caught like 30 bass over 2 pounds the morning of that tournament. I've heard the morning bite out there is incredible, and that's the only morning ive fished. It's hard to get people to talk on here at all. It would be nice to get some dialouge going on here about the lake. there's usually hundreds of people that will view a thread and maybe 2 post. I'm not talking about giving your secrets away. just some reports on whether or not people are catching any fish or if someone catches one over 6 pounds it would be nice to know. Iseem to have most of my luck between the landing and the dam. I noticed that during the tourney 2/3 of the people took off the other way. as far as bridges go, what's ya'lls favorite part of the lake?

I hear ya, I caught a 9.5 off the riprap along hwy 9 several years back when I was first starting on bowen, that's probably what kept me with it. The fish were on that morning, but we haven't seen them like that since. The lake gets alot of pressure so if you get on some good fish you can't tell everything....we do good on the two banks at the dam some mornings, but you have to get there before the ski boats or you'll be rocking nonstop. Best part of the lake seems to be anything below 26....Are yall hiring any CE's out there at CH2M? I'd trade secrets for a job hahaha

I would disagree. I think they're in a post spawn pattern right now.....won't last too long though.
